May 24, 2010: Now This Is Simply Ridiculous

I know, dear readers!  Yet more eons have passed!  As shocking as it sounds, apparently transcribing this blog for me isn't Tui's #1 priority right now!  AS IF she has more important things to do!  Or more important puppies to attend to!  HARRUMPH!

Believe me, I'm doing everything I can.  I tried teaching myself to type...

This is harder than it looks!

But that didn't work...

Hello?  Little help?

I tried disguising myself as one of the new puppy's toys so I could figure out what his secret cuteness techniques are...

Nobody here but us monkeys!

But it's unfathomable...he's just cute all the time!  With no apparent effort!  How is that fair?

And every time I hear the camera turn on, I gallop into the room and fling myself into the photo, so that everyone will have to remember that I'm cuddly and lovable, too!

See?  How can you resist this face?  The new puppy isn't even looking at you!  I'm giving you all my attention!  Pick me!  Choose me!  Love ME!

(Yes, you know things are getting dire when I start quoting Grey's Anatomy.)

DEEP.  SIGH.

It's a lucky thing that awesome Pet Trouble readers are out there sending me splendiferous messages like this:

Hey Sunshine! You are just adorable! I was wondering, my dogs have basically switched places. Now my puppy is like my older dog, and my older dog seems more like a puppy! It's funny, but is it normal? It's like they want more attention doing that. (I think you get a LOT of attention! YOU ARE SOOOOOO CUTE!) Pleeeeeeeeze write back!

Marinia

and this:

Hi Sunshine!!  I'm a huge fan of the Pet Trouble series. You are one adorable little pooch. I think my dog, Hollie would LOVE to be one of your friends. She is a black Labrador (huge) but she has a big heart and is always wanting more friends.

Hi!  Your dog is very cute.  I just wrote you a letter but I tried to put on a pic and it deleted it.  I have read all of your books; I am right now getting finished with Pet Trouble: Oh No Newf -- I think that's the name of it.  I think Sunshine's friends are very cute too. I am in 6th grade the book I am reading now is sort of like my problems in school.  Your books are funny too.  I love animals.  I plan on being an animal rescuer or vet.  I wish to see more pics of Sunshine!!!!

Allison

Aw, yay!  Thank you all so much!  :-)  With all the cooing over the new puppy that's going on around here, it makes me feel much better to hear that someone out there still thinks I'M adorable, too!  ;-)

Peyton, Hollie sounds awesome!  I think her pic came through -- there's now a black Lab called Hollie in my Friends, so I'm guessing that's her, right?  She's super-cute, too!  :-)

Marinia, that is so funny about your dogs.  I bet you're totally right that they're trying to get your attention (something I know a lot about right now!).  Sometimes having a younger dog around can make an older dog start acting crazy and funny like a puppy because it gives them the energy to play.  I know whenever my little cousin Maui visits, we end up running around and wrestling and rolling all over each other, because he's SO crazy that I have to act like a puppy just to keep up!  But then sometimes when other dogs are being really puppy-ish and dopey (not to name any names...OLIVER), I like to act all mature and wise to show off what a good, well-behaved, sensible dog I am.  Whatever will get Tui to pat me the most, that's what I'll do!

It's hard to compete with the new puppy, though.  Turns out he can make a lot more noise than I can!  Plus he has all these adorable outfits.  No fair!  I always thought adorable outfits were lame, but I had no idea they could be a stealth weapon of major cuteness.  Hrrrrrrrrrrrrrmph.

Well, I'll keep trying to get enough attention to make Tui post this blog more regularly.  Keep your paws crossed for more soon!  :-)

Sigh!

Happy tails,
Sunshine!  :-)
