December 14, 2009: Boxer Goes Bananas
The dogs are gone! The house is quiet! I am queen of everything once again! Huzzah huzzah huzzah! :-) Boy, that's a relief. I was afraid maybe they were planning to stay forever and always. Now I have Tui's lap allllllllllll to myself, which is how it should be! :-)
ANNOUNCEMENT! Tui is doing a last-minute Barnes & Noble bookstore event THIS WEDNESDAY! December 16!!! This could be your last chance to see her for MONTHS!
She'll be at the Barnes & Noble in Burlington, Massachusetts on Wednesday, Dec. 16, at 4:30pm. There'll be reading and signing and answering questions (and possibly cookies), and she'd LOVE to see you! Please come if you can! It's so last-minute that possibly no one will come, but we're hoping at least a few of you will be there! :-) :-) :-)
All right, on to our question of the week:
Hello! My name is Hannah and I am nine years old. I love your books!!!! They are so coooooool! On a scale of 1 to 10 I'd give your books a 10 plus. I wanted to know if you have any advice on how to train my boxer. She is a girl and her name is Jasmine. She is a big dog and fat but very friendly. She is very very aggressive around other dogs. She is not trained well so we hardly take her on walks because she is so strong and aggressive. She knows the basic commands like sit, stay, come, and shake, but she's not fully trained. If you could give me some facts about boxers and training tips that would be great! Thank you!!
December 7, 2009: Dispatch from Deep Inside Dogmania
Hi everyone!
We're on Day TWENTY of the invasion! TWENTY DAYS OF DOGS ALL OVER THE PLACE! Specifically all over MY place!![]()
Uh, Mom? I can't help but notice that CERTAIN FURRY PEOPLE haven't gone home yet...
DEEP. SIGH. Alas, for I am a put-upon dog! If I can't be the one and only princess of my own house, what is the world coming to? I ask you!
And in the meanwhile, lovely mail has arrived! For me! To answer! So I'll take a break from rawring and pouncing on Maui's head and hiding on the couch whenever Oliver's racing around in circles to address some of these thrilling questions:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hi! I am Grace and I love your books and I wanted to know when Oh No, Newf! is coming out! :-)
Hi Grace! Thank you for your excellent questions! Yay for Pet Trouble fans! Oh No, Newf is coming out right at the beginning of February...not too far away!
December 1, 2009: Invasion of the Toy Snatchers
Hello, lovely friends and patient readers!
I am writing to you from a secret location!![]()
Hint: Where my dog bed ended up during the latest flurry of house-rearranging, i.e. Under the Bassinet (don't want to know what that is for) in the New Office.
I'm hoping to get a few moments of peace down here so I can fill you in on why I've been so tragically absent from the blog lately. It's because my house has been INVADED! INVADED, I TELL YOU! ![]()
What have I ever done to deserve this?
November 16, 2009: Producing Perfect Puppies (like me!) :-)
Hi hi hi!
People often ask Tui how exactly I managed to turn out quite so perfect. What's the secret? Is it nature or is it nurture? Most importantly, how can you make your own puppy this well-behaved, brilliant, snuggly, and lovable? ;-)
Well, if you ask me, it certainly helps that I am three-quarters poodle, one of the most intelligent dog breeds out there. And if you ask Tui, she'll tell you that I must have been born this way and she just lucked out getting such a good dog. (*preen, preen, fluff my fur, bat my eyelashes*) Plus, the owners of my canine parents are awesome, splendiferous people who took extremely good care of me as a puppy and made sure I was mentally stimulated and snuggled from birth, so we're sure that helped, too!
But in case this helps you, there are a couple of books Tui used when I first came to her (at about eight weeks old), so, since people have asked, we figured we'd share those! Of course, there are thousands of books like this out there, so you don't have to get these particular ones...most of them probably have a lot of the same advice. The important thing is actually following it!
Tui's favorite was this one:![]()
Puppy Parenting!
Cute and totally useful! At least if we're remembering correctly...that was a few years ago!
November 9, 2009: Truth (I'm a good dog!) vs. Fiction (I could be wicked enough to be in a Pet Trouble book! I swear!)
Hi, Sunshine!
I was wondering, how old are you? And also, it would be great if you are in one of Tui's Pet Trouble books! I would love to read that particular book!
Cheers,
Ashley
Hello,
Would you please tell me if Mud-Puddle Poodle is a "reality fiction". My daughter has to read something in that category and I wasn't sure if this is a true story or fiction. Thank you!
Gina
November 2, 2009: Happy Birthday to Someone Awesome (you know who you are!)
Dear Sunshine,
I heard that a new book Smarty-pants Sheltie is going to come out. Is it really?

October 26, 2009: Can My Hollywood Walk of Fame Star be Paw-Shaped?
Hi Sunshine,
I love the Pet Trouble books so much! I have the first three, but I was wondering, who are the other books going to be about? Like, the narrator person? This is all very suspenseful! I think maybe there should be one that Troy gets a dog, because, hello, Eric, Danny AND Parker ALL have one! Or maybe Kristal, but anyways, HERE IS MY REAL QUESTION! Are the Pet Trouble books going to get made into movies? I think that would be totally wonderful!

October 19, 2009: We Have a Winner! :-)
Or rather, a WIENER DOG!
That's right, the ever-lovable dachshund has officially won the contest to be the next Pet Trouble dog! :-) Woo hoo! Thank you all for voting, and keep an eye out for Dachshund Disaster, coming to a store near you sometime next year!
Hi Sunshine!
I love the Pet Trouble books. I was wondering... what is your favorite person(s) in the books? And if Tui and/or you could give me any writing inspiration that would rock. Like, how to come up with good last names! I can never think of any! For first names I can always look in my sister's yearbooks from her high school, since there are so many! I love animal books so I usually end up writing about them, from animals that can talk, to animals that barely know a sausage from a slab of ham! Either way, they eat it.
Please reply!
